Miles Smiles

We went back to our old haunts in Chicago this weekend, and while we were there, I got to take pictures of the darling Miles!  This little guy was a baby when we moved from Chicago.  Time flies, and he is walking!  And check out his little man hairstyle!  So adorable!

a sneak peek at the Z family

Tonight I took pictures of the Z family!  I love JJ's dimpled smile!  Alexa stole the show when she decided to smile... and when she decided not to smile. 
It is always a pleasure to take pictures of a happy family.

a splash of color

Aside from taking pictures, I also like to paint... and these interests came together this week when I painted a new backdrop! 

I love the bright colors.  They remind me of golden summer sun and a cool pool.  Refreshing.

Fun colors make Ruby smile.  Me too.

Here is a sneak peek at the photos from the G family photo shoot.  I think Nick was more interested in feathers, bugs, berries, rocks, etc... but I caught him on camera.  Sweet Ava was always willing to put her arm around her brother and give him a hug.  I love how these pictures turned out.  And there are more to come... stay tuned!

Emma goes off the deep end

I always like a challenge, and getting this picture of Emma jumping off of the diving board was a bit tricky.  Luckily, Emma was very cooperative.  She didn't mind jumping into the pool several times until I got just the right shot.  And I'd say it is a splashing success!  Thanks Emma!

the F Family

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing the F family!  We got lucky with the weather... we were mostly finished with the outdoor shots when little sprinkles of rain started to fall.  We collected our stuff and made it inside just before the downpour!  I took the rest of the pictures in their house.  Henry and Grace are adorable!  I couldn't get enough of Henry's gorgeous eyes and Grace's toothless smile!

Youth Conference!

Last week, I went to Youth Conference (as a leader, of course)!  It was so much fun being with the youth from our church.  They have so much goodness and beauty and strength in them.  Their energy is contagious (and a little bit exhausting)!  I brought my camera along, and I ended up taking lots of photos.  Here are a few of my favorite pics...

Preschool Celebration

Tonight was the end-of-year preschool celebration! 
The kids performed a few songs. 

They were adorable!  I loved the dancing and props.

The giggles and smiles and shy waves to parents made me smile...



... and laugh out loud. 




We finished our evening with s'mores by the campfire.  Such a lovely evening with music and family and goodies... what a treat!
